Canon lens 24-105 f/3.5.6stm pre-owned

The Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens is a versatile, standard zoom lens designed for Canon DSLR cameras with an EF mount. It is popular for its flexibility in various shooting scenarios, ranging from wide-angle shots to medium telephoto perspectives. Here’s a breakdown of its key features:

Key Features:

1. Focal Length: 24-105mm

   • This range offers a wide-angle to short telephoto zoom, making it suitable for a variety of subjects, including landscapes, portraits, travel, and general photography.

2. Aperture: f/3.5-5.6

   • The variable aperture (f/3.5 at 24mm and f/5.6 at 105mm) is typical for budget-friendly zoom lenses. While not the fastest aperture, it still provides good low-light performance and adequate depth of field control for most everyday photography.

3. Image Stabilization (IS):

   • The lens features Canon's Image Stabilization (IS) technology, helping to reduce camera shake during handheld shooting, especially at longer focal lengths or slower shutter speeds.

4. STM (Stepping Motor):

   • The STM (Stepping Motor) technology provides smooth and quiet autofocus, which is ideal for video recording as well as still photography. The lens delivers fast and accurate focusing with minimal noise, making it great for both stills and video use.

5. Compact and Lightweight:

   • Weighing just around 395 grams (0.87 lbs), the lens is relatively lightweight for a zoom lens with such a wide focal range, making it convenient for travel and everyday use.

6. Close Focusing Distance:

   • The lens has a relatively short minimum focusing distance of about 0.45m (1.48 ft), allowing for some close-up photography within its zoom range.

7. Optical Design:

   • The lens incorporates several aspherical and UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) lens elements to help correct optical aberrations and ensure high-quality images with minimal distortion and chromatic aberrations.

Applications:

• Versatile All-rounder: The 24-105mm focal range makes this lens perfect for a wide variety of photography styles, from wide-angle shots to portraiture.
• Travel Photography: Its flexibility makes it ideal for travel photographers who need a single lens that can handle multiple situations.
• Vlogging & Video: The STM autofocus and image stabilization features make it a solid choice for videographers, especially for smooth focus transitions and stable handheld footage.

Compatibility:

• Canon Full-Frame and APS-C Sensors: Though designed for Canon's full-frame DSLR cameras, it is also fully compatible with Canon's APS-C sensor cameras, where it would provide an effective focal length range of 38-168mm due to the crop factor.
